Bill FAQs //

What billing or insurance information will I receive?

Our office will bill your insurance for the medical services you receive from Dr. Shon.  Your insurance company will send you and our office an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) when they make a determination on your payment.  When we receive this we will bill you their determination. Please make sure to update our office for any changes in your insurance policy so we can bill properly.

How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?

This depends on how long it takes for your insurance company to make a determination and payment.  It can take anywhere from two weeks to more than one year.

Why am I getting bills from physicians?

Depending on your insurance policy, the bill you receive is based on what your insurance determines is your contracted amount to pay.  Most policies have a co-pay amount which is paid each time you come in for an office visit.  Some policies have a deductible amount which needs to be paid before your insurance covers you at your contracted rate.  A co-pay is different from your deductible and coinsurance.  Please call your insurance for your benefit information and details.

I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill - but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?

Your insurance has a contracted allowable rate with health care providers.  Please call your insurance for assistance regarding your benefit information and details as they have access to those records.
